Just as was the case the last time the Winter Olympics were held in North America, it will be Canada and the U.S. facing off in the men’s hockey final, a surprise matchup to some degree but one filled with intrigue nonetheless.
Canada, the pre-tournament favourite to most, was expected to get there.
The United States, however, wasn’t even a medal contender in many books, yet they will arrive in Sunday’s final as the only country with an unblemished record in the Olympic tournament.
In the previous game, the Americans scored early on a couple of Canadian errors – Sidney Crosby’s deflection into his own net, Brodeur’s puck-playing misplay – and were able to survive being outshot badly.
On Friday, the Americans jumped all over the Finns and goalie Miikka Kiprusoff early and have, from the first game of the tournament, looked like a team that has played together for years.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev demanded Monday that sports officials step down over the country’s dismal performance at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Russia, a traditional winter sports powerhouse, won just 15 medals –with only three golds — in one of its worst performance. Officials said before the games that 30 medals and a top-three finish in the medal standings was the target.
Russia placed 11th for golds and sixth in the overall medal count.
The Conservative gov. will map out its plan to keep Canada’s economy on track to quick recovery as it opens a fresh session of Parliament Wednesday.
In a day rich in pomp and ceremony, Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean will deliver a speech from the throne that will log more than 6,000 words and take 60-90 minutes to read. In it, she will cite completing the second year of the $19-billion economic stimulus plan as the Government’s “top priority," according to a senior gov. official. The federal blueprint will focus on creating jobs and innovation, but will also usher in an era of restrained gov. spending to control the deficit.

Who cares who copy who? The one who put it together and produced the movie first is the winner.
Yapp, I have lot of ideas that have come real today. Like, I think of making fake grass that will not grown 20 years ago. Now, there is turf (soccer field at BMO). Can I fill a complain and say they copy my idea.
People just want to share other victory and credit !!! BS!
保守黨政府在施政報告中承諾﹐委託國會研究國歌﹐考慮是否恢復國歌原版的中性措辭。政府欲改掉「你所有兒子」(in all thy sons command)這句(圈中)﹐恢復原歌詞的中性字眼「我們」( thou dost in us command)﹐但眾數第一身的歌詞唱起來比較繞口。保守黨內部知情者透露﹐哈珀考慮修改歌詞﹐並且承諾在G8國峰會倡導改善母嬰健康﹐目的是取悅女選民﹐因為她們較多支持自由黨。
With the $100 million surplus, David Miller can now give a bigger raise to unionized employees. Over half of that surplus was saved from snow removal. Then the next lefty mayor that follows David Miller will cry poor and raises taxes again while unionized wages go higher and higher. David Miller should better leave early.
Condemned daily as an out-of-control spendthrift, Mayor David Miller is holding up a $100 million budget windfall as proof that his successor won’t need to slash spending or outsource city services.
Miller told a crush of reporters Wednesday that the unexpected money, bringing the 2009 surplus to $350 million, puts Toronto on a solid financial footing heading into 2011.
The 4 per cent residential property tax hike for this year will be pared to 2.9 per cent and the commercial increase reduced to under 1 per cent. Proposed service cuts and fee hikes will be reviewed, with a controversial reductions in subsidies for daycares in public schools likely off the table. And $75 million will be put aside to keep taxes down next year.
