Every Christmas season, there is always a free turkey giveaway for the less fortunate handed out by Ed (except for the recent years when he was not too well).
In H.K, when success is solely measured by how much wealth one accumulates, Ed’s gesture and involvement looks more noble to me.

Eddy deserves a special salute from every Torontonian by making Toronto a place worth seeing and living. Being an immigrant himself, he contributed so much to this place we call home by earning a living here not by exploiting the resources and people in a not-so-glamorous district but rather giving back to the community. Whether giving out turkeys and other freebies is just a goodwill gesture or good salesmanship for his stores is not important. What’s important is he had made a dull and blah city colourful by making things happen.
There is so much we can say and learn from this great entrepreneur. We really need more Mirvishes with great vision and passion here in Toronto.
PS: One of my user names I made up years ago actually is named after him.
